John H. Helmers, Jr.
Mr. Helmers, is a native of Owensboro, Kentucky, and is the founding partner of Helmers, DeMuth & Walton, PLC. He concentrates his practice in the area of litigation, including personal injury litigation, family law litigation, and criminal litigation. Additionally, Mr. Helmers, conducts an appellate practice. He has had cases published by the Appellate Courts of the state, including S.R.D. v. T.L.B. 174 S.W. 3d, 502, Snyder v. McCarley, 2003 Ky. App. Lexis 228, Downing v. Downing, 45 S.W. 3d 449, and McMurray v. McMurray, 957 S.W. 2d 731. He is admitted to practice before all Kentucky Courts, in Federal Courts, including the Western and Eastern District of Kentucky, and the Southern District in Indiana. Mr. Helmers, is a 1993 graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Law. where he was was awarded the John Todd Shelby Memorial Scholarship. While in law school, he was elected as the Vice President of the Student Bar Association. Further, he served as chairman of the Honor Council.
Mr. Helmers completed his undergraduate studies at Wake Forest University. He was awarded the Cardswell Scholarship in association with his academic achievements. He is a member of the National Honor Fraternity in History.
Mr. Helmers is a member of the Kentucky Justice Association.
While not practicing law, Mr. Helmers enjoys cooking, sports, and reading.
